Before that time comes, a Last Letter allows you to leave your feelings in writing for your cherished loved ones who remain.
our written Last Letters are kept in a dedicated letter box at Tegamidera and delivered when the time is right.
There are no rules about what to write in your Last Letter or what to include in the letter box.
You can open your letter box anytime to rewrite or add to your Last Letter.
Writing a Last Letter can also be a time for self-reflection and a chance to truly connect with "that special someone."

Delivering to Your Special Someone After Your Passing

Your letter box will be sealed and securely stored by Tegami-dera.
We will contact you annually to confirm your well-being.
In the event of your passing, Tegami-dera will take full responsibility for delivering your letter box and your heartfelt thoughts to your important "special someone."

You Can Revise Your Letter Anytime

You can open your letter box to rewrite your Last Letter as many times as you wish, or to rearrange the items you've placed inside.

Safely Stored in Our Custody Until That Day

Your letter box is stored in a fire-resistant, dedicated storage facility. In a corner of a temple with a 1200-year history, dating back to 835 A.D. (Jōwa 2), we will carefully safeguard your letter box and the feelings within for years to come.

As of May 2021, we are entrusted with approximately 600 letter boxes (Last Letters).
