We at Tegamidera are a place for you to reconnect with your true self by conversing with that special someone through letters.

The Tang dynasty poet Yu Wuling's "A Song of Farewell" concludes with these lines:

"人生足別離" (Life is full of partings.)

Ibuse Masuji's translation of this poem deeply resonates with us:

"「サヨナラ」ダケガ人生ダ" (Goodbye is the only truth in life.)

As Ibuse's words suggest, parting ways with important people is an inevitable part of life. In such moments, we hope you will visit Tegami-dera.

That special someone could be someone you can no longer meet,
or someone you're too shy to speak to directly.
You can even write to your past or future self, treating them as that special someone.

Feeling the support of that special someone who knows you better than anyone can empower you to move forward with confidence.

Even if you can no longer meet that special someone, confronting your feelings through letters may help you reclaim your true self and take a new step forward.

Until we can open physical Tegami-dera locations resembling cozy cafes in towns in the near future, we aspire to create an online Tegami-dera. Here, transcending time and space, everyone can safely rediscover themselves.
