Tegami-dokoro Hamacho

Tegami-dokoroHamacho

A Place to Write and Send Your Thoughts

Nestled quietly in Nihonbashi Hamacho,
this is a peaceful retreat—
slightly removed from the bustle of the city,
yet always within reach.

On the third floor of an old building,
you’ll find a quiet space dedicated to writing letters.

As you gaze out through the wide windows,
words begin to come to you naturally.

Here, you can spend a calm, reflective moment—
facing yourself, or someone dear to you.

Letter Pilgrimage Post

Once finished, place your letter in the white “T-Post” inside the space.
All letters are respectfully burned in a ritual offering by a Buddhist monk, without ever being opened.

Letter Set

At Tegami-dokoro, writing tools, stationary and envelopes are all provided for you to use freely.

Drinks

You can relax and write a letter while enjoying some tea or coffee.

You can spend time in your own way while gazing out the large windows along the green path, enjoying the changing scenery of each season.

Tegami-Box

Each visit, you open your box
and write down your thoughts of that moment.

In time, your words become letters—
to someone precious, and to yourself.

As the seasons pass,
your thoughts quietly build layers within the box.

The Box That Changes With You

The Tegami-Box is your own personal archive—
for letters, reflections, and words meant for the future.

It is kept safely in the dedicated archive at Tegami-dokoro Hamacho, where you can visit anytime to add or revise what’s inside.

Layer your heartfelt words—
to loved ones, or to yourself—within this box.
