What is "Tegami Mairi"?
"Tegami Mairi" is about connecting with "that person" who has passed on, transcending life and death, and communicating with them through letters. Even if their grave is far away and you can't visit, or if you're in a facility, hospital, working, or traveling and can't go to the grave, Tegami Mairi allows you to communicate with "that person" who is no longer with us, no matter where you are. The letters received will be ritually burned at Tegami-dera.

Tegami-dera's Vision
When you're feeling anxious, need to pause and reflect, want to take a step forward, or lack the confidence to proceed alone, there are times you just can't move forward. In such moments, Tegami-dera believes it's crucial to put into writing the thoughts you can't express or haven't articulated to anyone in your daily life. The act of "writing a letter" allows you to step away from your everyday conversational self and engage deeply with both the recipient of your letter and your own inner thoughts.

Tegami-dera aims to be a place where hearts find ease and the will to live is restored, by allowing people to confront and communicate with "that person" through letters.
